Hello there! We’re the Michigan Beverage Collective, and we’re thrilled to meet you.
Allow us to introduce ourselves. Michigan-born and bred, the Collective enables beverage industry employers to provide competitive benefits without breaking the bank. Our attractive benefits programs help brewery and winery owners recruit and retain the best talent. We know, we know…benefits sound expensive, complicated, and difficult to administer. But hear us out.
The Michigan Beverage Collective harnesses the group buying power of our state’s craft beverage makers and wholesalers. We’re able to provide lower prices on name-brand coverage (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, no less), personalized administrative support from industry experts, and sustainable cost savings (no ‘introductory rate’ nonsense for us). Bottom line, the Collective reduces the costs and hassles of benefits programs for employers who want to take care of their people, offer a great place to work, and grow their business.
We’ve designed our sustainable employee benefits programs to be easy to administer. Employers can build a customized benefits package using our coverage options:
- 12 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan health plans (seven traditional medical plans and five high-deductible plans with health savings accounts)
- Three Blue Care Network HMO network options
- Medicare supplement
- Mix-and-match prescription drug coverage (available for select health insurance plans)
- Four Blue Cross Blue Shield dental plan choices
- Four VSP vision plan options
- The Hartford short-term disability insurance
The Michigan Beverage Collective has contracted with MBWWA Services, Inc., for administration of its group health plan. MBWWA Services, Inc., has been administering the Collective’s benefit plans since its inception in 1990, with 32 current participating employers and more than 4,000 insured.
And now, the Collective has opened up the program to beer and wine makers, as well as distillers. By expanding our buying pool, we’re able to keep costs down for everyone. In fact, our premium renewal last year was 10% lower than the industry average.
So make yourself at home and take a look around our website. Check out our flexible plan design, implementation, and support options. Meet our friendly staff members, who manage claims, questions, and issues promptly and professionally.
